November 11 Resource Blast

Kitchen Literacy is an important skill for the students in your Family Studies classes to learn.  Strong kitchen literacy skills help prepare students for successful learning and undertaking of food preparation.

 

Kitchen literacy is an integral part of ALL of the Family Studies food and nutrition courses.  Each of the courses offered in the curriculum includes a specific and overall expectation related to kitchen literacy:

 

HFN1O/HFN2O:  E.4 – demonstrate the literacy and numeracy skills required in food preparation.

HFC3M/HFC3E:  D.4 – demonstrate the literacy and numeracy skills required in food preparation.

HFA4U/HFA4C:  E3 – demonstrate the skills needed in food preparation.

HFL4E: B4 – demonstrate skills needed in food preparation.
